It was probably one of the most unbelievable events in my life. I was in NYC, on 25th and broadway. I saw the second tower collapse from the fire escape. I walked down broadway to the west side highway. I walked, not on the sidewalk, but down the middle of the busiest street in america, if not the world. There wasn’t a single car on the road. I took a ferry back to jersey and looked back at my beloved city, on fire.
I also remember the resolve of New York. Of America. How class wasn’t an issue. Nor race. Nor gender. We were humbled, and in that humility, we were united. Broken down, only to be built up stronger. Prouder. Better.
I will always remember. I will never EVER forget.
